Appropriation, the first of many

Here are a few comments to start. This should be the first of many entries on the subject:

I steal. Well, I do and I don’t. What I do is necessary for the art to work. I take things to back things, but the original meaning is necessary to make them work. Without the possibility of the recognition of the images, what I do is meaningless.

The argument for appropriation in art was made long before I was born. Is it still necessary that I defend my drawings? I don’t think so – only the effectiveness of them.
